The Nerve Injury Clinic at UCSF Medical Center provides diagnosis and treatment, including surgery for nerve repair and nerve grafting, for complex injuries of the peripheral nervous system, or the nerves outside of the brain and spinal cord.

The Neuro-Infectious Diseases Clinic is dedicated to the care of patients with neurological infections and neurological manifestations of systemic infections. The clinic, staffed by neurologists with subspecialty training in infectious diseases, is located within the UCSF Infectious Diseases Clinic.

The Neurodevelopmental Translational Outcomes Research Program aims to build resilience in children with or at risk of neurodevelopmental disorders through innovative biomedical interventions evaluated in real world settings such as schools.

Dedicated neurohospitalists, expert in neurologic inpatient care, have transformed UCSF into the premier inpatient facility for those suffering from neurologic disorders. The UCSF neurohospitalist fellowship is one of the first of its kind.

The Neurointensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU) at UCSF Medical Center is one of the largest and most sophisticated neurosurgical/neurological facilities in the nation. This highly specialized unit provides quality care to critically ill adult, neurologically impaired patients who undergo a variety of complex surgical procedures and interventional treatments.

The Neurointerventional Radiology Clinic at UCSF Medical Center uses minimally invasive technologies to treat vascular conditions involving the central nervous system — the brain, spinal cord, head and neck.

The central objective of the Neurological Surgery Residency Program is the training of academic neurosurgeons. While providing a residency program that meets the demands and realities of a changing health care environment, we select residents who have the aptitude and desire to enter full-time academic neurosurgery.

Specialists in the Neurology Clinic at UCSF Medical Center are leaders in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of disorders from cerebrovascular disease to headache to nerve injuries. Patients may undergo a comprehensive evaluation in the Neurology Clinic before referred to a neurological expert who specializes in a specific condition.

The Neurology Residency Program is widely considered among the top neurology training programs in the country, vying with other top-ranked programs to attract the brightest and most talented future academic neurologists who will become clinical or laboratory investigators, academic clinical subspecialty experts, master clinicians, or clinician-educators.

The Neuropathy Center at UCSF Medical Center coordinates treatment, education and support for patients with peripheral neuropathy, a disease caused by damage to the peripheral nerves.

The Neurorehabilitation Program at UCSF Medical Center helps patients with damaged nervous systems improve their physical and behavioral function after suffering from stroke or other neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injury.

UCSF offers an interdisciplinary program for graduate training in neuroscience. The purpose of this program is to train doctoral students for independent research and teaching in neuroscience.

The UCSF Neuroscience Imaging Center is an MRI facility providing infrastructure, expertise, and support for researchers in the San Francisco Bay Area. Established in April 2007, the NIC is dedicated to brain imaging research, with a particular emphasis on functional MRI (fMRI).

The Neurospinal Disorders Program provides diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients suffering from all diseases of the spine and peripheral nerves.

The Neurosurgery Clinic at UCSF Medical Center provides a broad spectrum of services — from comprehensive evaluations, treatment planning, surgery and rehabilitation — for conditions ranging from brain tumors to nerve disorders.
