Temporal lobe epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders, yet approximately one-third of patients do not respond to drug treatments. Dr. Chen’s goal is to develop more effective delivery methods—a targeted gene delivery in the brain using bio-derived lipid nanoparticles—to improve treatment outcomes for epilepsy and other treatment-resistant neurological disorders.
